We were skiing below the Mooses Tooth in the Ruth Gorge last month, all the while Denali loomed overhead.  Where we were, at 5,000 feet, it was below zero and calm for most of the trip but jump up 15,000 feet and winds were constantly hammering at a staggering rate leaving the temps around its sought after summit unfathomably low.  Photo: Garrett Grove
